Hate is such a strong word for me on this poll... I had to think about it for a while. I prefer a balmoral with the kilt (can't wait to get my husband one) and have really never thought much about flat caps either way in all honesty.
I finally voted that I had no strong feelings either way.

While I tend toward the traditional, balmoral look with a kilt, the fact is that few folks in the highlands actually wear kilts all the time. So how does one establish "tradition" when the only tradition is based on dressy occassions!
I like flat hats, but I have no strong opinion either way, and that's how I voted.
Fact is, almost anything Panache wears looks good! (I hedged with the "almost" because it seems like he showed up in an outgit one time that raised a brow or two, but I can't remember details. Remember, I am old. I've had surgery. I worked in an aluminum plant.)
If Panache wears a flat hat, then you can bet it looks like a million bucks. But then, when the chiefs gather, it's balmorals all around, even for Panache, I guess. So it's really just a fun thing.
I notice that a lot of folks agree.

I voted yes, the only times would be, a) formal, b) evening dress, c) traditional gatherings with a posted dress code/expectation. I see no problem wearing a bunnett for everyday wear with a kilt, except if it's tartan with a toorie. LOL.

I voted "no strong feelings either way". What you do is ok with me. I thought the underlining rule on here is that there really isn't any rules. Wear what's comfortable to you? I dunno...if you like 'em, wear 'em. if you don't, then don't wear it.

I personally couldn't care less either way. I wear Sport Kilt noggin wraps for every day wear, and a Highland navy blue bonnet for dressier occasions. Or... ith:

I do not wear flat caps - but I am not opposed if some one else wants to wear one. That's a big "maybe"

Because of my balding pate, I wear flat caps with or without a kilt.
