    Do yourself a favor and deal directly with your kiltmaker. Plenty of folks will advertise that they can get your Kirk tartan made up for you from some nameless faceless kiltmaker they subcontract to.

    Any kiltmaker can also advise you on what the various availabilities are for your Kirk tartan - mills, weights, etc. then order in your choice and sew it up for you. A full time kiltmaker will finish sooner than a part-time kiltmaker.

    What you are buying will last a lifetime.
