I was actually thinking of this the other day. I imagine there'd have to be some wrangling with seams running diagonally through the pleats if using traditionally woven tartan. It would certainly be interesting to see how one turned out.
Now all we have to do is to convince someone to weave a length of tartan on the bias so there's no seams running through the pleats and get someone to stitch up a prototype
