    Loch Norman Highland Games

There were a number of X-Marks members in attendance at the Loch Norman Games. Others will no doubt contribute more photos and the group shot, but I'll open the thread with a few photos of my kids.

First off is my youngest son (in MARPAT X-Kilt) competing in the tomahawk throw. He didn't place in the tomahawk throw, but he did borrow his brother's longbow and win the 16 and under division in that event.

Next is my eldest son (MadBagpiper) on stage with the Celtic rock band "the Hooligans". That's master musician Liam Davidson in the foreground.

I love the Hooligans. They did a great performance at Meg's. I like how they pass around instruments and trade off duties during their set.

I just got back home from the games not too long ago. Lots of pics.

This is from the line-up for the opening parade. That's the commander of the Clan Gunn with the eagle feather.

Piperdh and lovely wife (can't remember your name, sorry!). SHe purchased the outfit she's wearing that day at the games.

McMurdo again... yes, that's the same fellow. Yes, this picture was taken on the same day. Yes, that is a different outfit....

This was our first appearance at the LNHG, and the Mrs. and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While there were a couple of thousand people there, it wasn't crowded, the weather was perfect, plenty of clans, good vendors anxious to receive our hard-earned money, and a whole passel of X-Markers to meet and greet. The Mrs. got her birthday-, anniversary-, and end-of-first-year-of-grad-school presents today, in the form of the blouse, skirt, bodice, belt and necklace she bought from some of the vendors. I received several comliments on my red cabled hose, and gave out three dandelions. Thanks again, Mael Cluim, for sending those my way.
We then went to P. F. Chang's Chinese restaurant for supper, which was excellent, as usual, where we got several approving looks and a few questions about why we were dressed up.
I'll post some pics later, and put some of them into the "Lasses' Wear" thread.

I highly recommend the Loch Norman Highland Games to anyone who is beginning this journey.
