First saw these and fell in love with them when I did the whisky tour at Aberlour Distilleries. They had 6 different whiskys to taste at the end of the tour, all in these lovely glasses. Need to get some for the collections myself.

Love the Aberlour and tne Abunadh in your collection, although I wouldn't kick any of them out of bed for eatin' crackers.

"May I suggest a bottle of Laphraig to add to your collection on the peety side."

I think I have sampled the Laphraig before, and I do enjoy a little peety flavor, but my love of sea salt has really made me appreciate the Old Pulteney for the unique flavor.

I keep telling myself that I will be OK when I attend my own retirement ceremony, but I just know I am going to shed a tear as one does during a military funeral where Taps or Amazing Grace is played, it is just not natural not to have an emotional release during such a life changing event.

I am enjoying a bit of Glenmorangie now, so sweet and mellow, a perfect nightcap.

So where did you acquire those fine glasses? I currently use the oversize brandy snifter for my single malts.

I can't comment on your selection since I haven't had any of those particular varieties, though I have had other varieties of Bowmore and Glenmorangie, both very good.

I currently have 2 Islays in my collection, the Laphroaig 15 and the Lagavulin 16, both of which I would heartily recommend. In addition, I had Caol Isla 12 at a recent whisky tasting (pictures here) which was also quite good.

Oh great, another addition to jonesing. Purpose built Scotch glasses. I'm doomed.

BTW I'm sure the VA rabble would help with the testing of your wonderful glasses!

    Congratulation on the milestone.

I just picked up a dozen Tobermory branded Glencairn glasses on ebay at $4.95 each plus $17 shipping. Tobermory is one of my and my wife's favorites, so it works for us. Will used them ad lib, obviously, but also when I have friends over for scotch tasting-poker parties.
    Thanks for the hookup.
