Attention X-Markers in Las Vegas
As I've probably mentioned repeatedly in different threads on here, I'm getting married in Vegas in May. May 25th to be more specific. That's Memorial Day.
My bride to be is somewhat put out by the reactions we received from family on announcing our intent to marry. Not that they disapprove, just that they seemed more or less disinterested (go figure). That is part of what led to deciding to just go to Vegas and do it our way. There will be no guests, just us.
Here's where you come it. I've checked with here and received strong approval for the suggestion/request I'm about to make.
We'll be going to a relatively early dinner at Nine Fine Irishmen in New York, New York on the strip after the ceremony. I haven't made the reservation yet, but it will probably about 4:30.
Anyone here who would like to show up, preferably kilted, around 5:30 or so to tip back a few pints with us and help us celebrate would be very warmly welcomed. I probably don't need to say this, but no gifts are necessary or expected. We're just looking for some good company!
We should be easy to spot, I'd think. I'll be wearing my Leatherneck kilt and PC. She'll be wearing a sea foam green dress with a Leatherneck tartan sash.
The more the merrier! Come help us celebrate!

Can't make it, but I would think Vegas is kinda Cliche. I am licensed to do weddings in Ohio, not that I have ever done one, and I know there has to be more of us (even some with clergy tartans)
But nothing like starting your honeymoon right from the getgo, I've never been to Vegas, but I hear it can be lovely.
Best of luck, and remember its your wife you are obligated to make happy, the family you choose, not the one you were born to.

Perhaps not, based on the number of wedding parties from Scotland we observed in Vegas a couple of weeks ago.

Well, you sure picked the right spot with Nine Fine Irishmen.
Around here Memorial Day weekend is a weekend to hole up and stay off the two lane rezroads if you wanna stay alive amid the motorhomes and towed boats....
Do have a lovely wedding and I admire the spirit of doing it your way. My little brother was married in Vegas and he and his lovely wife are on their 18th year of marriage.
