The only thing that's been left out is a hat of some sort. I like Balmorals; some like baseball caps (which won't fit my head); others like flat caps (and please, let's not start THAT up again). You might want to go bareheaded, or wear a straw hat like a fellow X-Marker had on last Saturday at Loch Norman. If you're going to a Games or Festival that's outside, a hat will help keep sunburn away, and in some situations, "finishes" a look, although you'll look just fine without it.
Does Ohio have a state tartan? If so, that might be a choice somewhere down the line, since you've already got your "list" going.
Welcome aboard from western North Carolina, the greatest place on Earth.

When given a choice, most people will choose.

I've been thinking about that. I've seen evidence from the aftermath of the Great Flat Cap War, but I haven't actually seen the thread(s) yet. Personally, I like flat caps - I already wear them when a baseball cap isn't nice enough, and even have a nice wool one from Ireland. I'm a firm believer in headwear as a necessary accessory; so it's just a matter of figuring out which I like.

There is one, and I actually like it quite a bit.

(Aside - I did some searching and reading on the flat cap debate. I understand the arguments, and will take them into account. No need to repeat it here! But I do think what goes on the head matters, and obviously will differ based on the "look" you are going for, from casual all the way up to the "high end" of the range. Given that I'm starting out with "sporty" and "casual" looks, I doubt I'll be heading out to get a balmoral, glengarry, or caubeen anytime soon.)

I quite understand what you are saying and whatever you choose to wear on your head(in spite of my own views!)is entirely your own affair. Can I point out though that a balmoral is the most general purpose Scots bonnet you can have.Formal, informal, sporty the balmoral it is quite at home with any and all situations..
