    What Tattoo was that from?
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I'm guessing so don't quote me but; Revue Marsch Military Tattoo, Breda, Germany 2004 but that's only because there are Germans in the massed band, the wonderfully frantic conductor is German Navy and there is another clip of a German Military Band at the same Tattoo also on Oooh-tube and they are wearing the same clothes so it must be the same gig...

That little lad on the snare eh?. What about him?

    Brilliant!

Never knew Highland Cathedral was written by two German musicians Ulrich Roever and Michael Korb. Every day's a learning day as they say...

Very cool clip, thanks for posting. That young lad on the drum was very good. It was interesting to see that the Australian lads were wearing pith helmets. ith:

The helmets and tunics on the Australians appear to be the same as those worn by the Royal Marines Band (UK) but that bass drum definately says 'Australia' on it. I don't know anything about the Australian Navy and I tried a quick Google and drew blank. Dunno! they look like Marines to me...

    Any takers?

There's alot of countries represented there though eh?

Is the Australian Navy still called the Royal Australian Navy? I think so. So I should think that the chaps in the pith helmets are Royal Australian Marines.Any way great tune, well played by a truly international band. Wow, that little drummer was good.

Did a little digging (Isn't the the world wide wonder-web handy) Australia doesn't have Marines. That said they do have commandos. 4th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment was re-rolled on 1 February 1997 as 4 RAR (Commando) so it would seem their Marines ar Army not Navy... making them not Marines if you see what I mean. Perhaps the Australian bass drummer is part of a cadet outfit.

EDIT: You're right Jock, it is the Royal Australian Navy.

EDIT 2: Just read this back... I do believe I'm hi-jacking my own thread.

With apologies to all Australians. This is what happens when you live in an up-side-down country. Ok, sorry all.

To my knowledge, there is no Royal Australian Marines, but I would bet there are Ozzies who have joined the RM.
