Sounds sincere to me too. I live in a heavy tourist area and not at all uncommon to have Scottish tourists come up to me when I'm kilted. They are always pleased to see someone kilted.
Back when I still fit my Utilikilts they'd marvel at the adaptation/Scottish Jeans. Guess Utilikilts are more common back in Scotland these days.
Had to be sincere. No other reason to pull over.
