    Tartan Jones-Any ideas?

    Hey Y'all-
So my brother has finally ordered his first tank (He had long since outgrown all the kilts from his youth). Since his middle name is Montgomery, he ordered that tartan of which I totally adore! I went through bobilicious on ebay, and got such a good deal, I went ahead and ordered an 8 yarder for myself in ancient heather isle tartan. I'm planning on getting one more Matt Newsome kilt in the coming weeks, but I want a REALLY good tartan (I'm not so traditional that I'll stick with family tartan), so any will do. The only exception is Holyrood Gold, of which after seeing Jimmy's picture after we did his Argyll hose (Refer to the show us your best pics thread), my wife has said "Don't get that tartan-Santa his going to take care of that"------So--------Please post a pic of the tartan you think is just the most gorgeous you've ever seen. (NOTE-I have an Isle of Skye already). I'm leaning towards MacCreary, but let me see what you got!!!! -Josh

Capercaillie tartan, but brace yourself for the price.

Try to see past the miss, and see the tartan!

I suggest looking at Dutch Friendship Tartan (DFT) It is just a beautiful tartan. My "must have list" has shrunk down to three tartans (Galbraith Modern, Nicol Ancient, and DFT)

Here is a link to the official site

    http://www.dutchfriendshiptartan.eu/

If you are nice maybe Robin or Canuck might show a picture of their DFT kilts

    Cheers

Going on asthetics alone, I like the following:

...but I know the black-ops look is not for everyone.

You're not going to believe this-I just bought 5 yards of DW material off ebay. It was a mystery tartan, but soooo beautiful, I couldn't pass it up. I think its the DFT

You know, claiming a tartan the most beautiful is a little like naming a favorite child. Little good can come of it.

Nevertheless, I've looked through some of the images that I've downloaded for future reference, and besides the one of my own design that I'm working on, Teall of Tealloach is one of the prettiest in the bunch, I think:
