    Think in these terms:
    -Pride of Lions
    -Gaggle of Geese
    -School of Fish
    -Herd of Sheep
    -Murder of Crows
    -Flock of Chickens
    -_____ of X Markers

So far I vote for either "Rabble of X Markers" or "Sett of X Markers."
Enough people misspell sett as it is, so why not?

Anyway, I don't feel that rabble needs to be tinkered with, but as long as the debate has reopened, my suggestion would be a triumph.

Gosh, if we're going to have to be serious about it , "sett" is very good in a written context which is, of course, what we deal with here.

I like all the suggestions but cast my vote for "sett". It just seems to pull things together...no pun intended.

I'll go ahead and drop my two cents and vote for sett also. Seems to make the most sense.

Looking at Rex's post, that link shows this subject has been raised a long time ago, and they settled on Rabble.. So in the interest of tradition, I say keep with rabble...

Rabble, aside from having a history of use, has an implication of a bit of mischief that I find appealing

I have always considered RABBLE as a descriptor for X-markers as a whole. What I was suggesting was a collective noun for a group such as when we get together at a Games or a Kilt Night. Kind of like how a flock of sheep does not describe all the sheep in the world, but a particular and recognizable group, e.g. Mr Jones' flock is distinct from Mr Smith's flock. Thus the Sett of X-makers at Gatlinburg or some such identifier.
