Practikilt

Don't worry, I'm not trying to buy one.

I'm a bit confused about Practikilt. I've heard naught but negative reviews, yet they still exist. Who's buying them? Why? Perhaps more importantly, who's making them? Does this person realize that his kilts aren't up to par? Does he care?

I've been thinking about this for a couple days and came up with a couple of ideas, but I don't know anything for sure and it's kind of bothering me.

The Practikilt was one of the first attempts to copy the UK. It seemed to have been sold exclusively through Museum Replicas, which is related to Atlanta Cutlery. It was priced well but there was never enough information given about sizing and the like. A (very) few past forumites owned one, but no one actually ever posted pics or a detailed review to my knowledge. I was under the impression that they were no longer sold. Do you have a current link?

Answered my own question. Still sold they are on close out for $49. Might make a good kilt for teenager:

There are only two pictures of the product, both from the front. One of them cuts off the kilt. The other is focused more on showing us the wearer than the garment. The description is missing a lot of important information.

If they didn't sell well, I can't say I'm surprised.

I ran in to a teenager wearing a practikilt this weekend and a renfair. Let me just say it looked so bad I assumed it was a xkilt that he did not do a very good job on. Then he told me it was a practikilt that he bought for 30 dollars out of a bargain bin. I didn't want to make it obvious that I thought it looked horrible but when he said he was looking for one in his family tartan but can find one he could afford I sent him to some of the sponsors and sportkilt. So as just seeing one practikilt out before I would never buy one. I can make one that looks better for cheaper.

Since it's 100% cotton, wouldn't it serve as a great "tank" top in warm weather?
