Can't WAIT for Memorial Day!
To put it lightly, this past week has been HELL ON EARTH! Work, for lack of a better term, has sucked, so I, like 99% of all Americans am so looking forward to a nice, relaxing Memorial Day with my family....KILTED!
Thinking that my Black Watch tartan woukd be in order for this fine holiday. I kinda wish I had an American/USA themed tartan, but I figure the Black Watch will be just as appropriate.
I'd be curious to know what the rest of the rabble might be doing on Monday kilted. I, for one, have actually been planning my outfit for tomorrow.....

IF I get the second coat of bottom paint on my sailboat finished, I will be kilted at the Memorial Day program at the New Bern National Cemetery this afternoon. Will wear my County Antrim to honor my father who fought with the New Zealand Army in the Pacific in WW2.

Memorial Day morning, setting here waiting for the family to stir. The wife and son are taking the daughter-in-law to a large flee market that is only open on Mondays. Monday holidays are the only timw the wife gets to go, she still works ya know.
Myself I'm going later to the National Cemetery in my Black Watch, w/ Black Watch Tam, for the services for our fallen Brothers in Arms.
I don't believe the idea is to arrive in heaven in a well preserved body! But to slide in side ways,Kilt A' Fly'n! Scream'en "Mon Wha A Ride" Kilted Santas

I will be taking the mother-in-law and the children to visit my wife's grave (she died last August after a short but fierce battle with cancer) after which, we will go to Golden Gate National Cemetary in San Bruno, CA to visit my father's grave (he served in WWII).
Presently it's a 3-way tie between wearing my SWK in Balck Watch, my SK in U.S. Army tartan with matching tie and my tank in Kerr Modern (family tartan).

I've got to spend a couple of hours at work and my wife has to work all day. But I'll be taking my kids and my staff to an afternoon ballgame... I'll be the one in the Ancient Roxburgh Red tank...
This evening, I'll bring out some pics of my Dad from his days in the Army (WWII and Korea). He passed away before my kids were born. We'll talk about him and the meaning of Memorial Day.

I'll be reminding my friends and former coworkers that I'm looking for a job in between actually looking for a job. What fun, huh?

Honoring those who have died in defense of our country. I'm piping a Memorial Day service solo at AmVets #67, then with my band at Largo Central Park this evening.

I will also be privileged to play at a 10 a.m. Mass (with my son) at one cemetery and a noon Memorial Day ceremony at another.
Thank you to all of you who have served our country, and my prayers are with those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

I'm planning on spending the day with the family. We will probably have a picnic, then maybe a movie and/or minature golf. I'll be wearing my MacKenzie.
