A thank you to Scottish Lion
A few days ago I posted some pics of my lady on the Lasses Wear thread in a tartan skirt she received last week. Here are the pics again:
The tartan is the Princess of Wales Memorial Tartan. I got the scarf last January on a trip to Scotland for the January Burns Night Supper in Dumfries. She did not attend (thought it would be too cold, and it was for her)
She has long had an interest in Princess Diana, and loves the soft blue of the tartan.
I found ladies kilted skirts in this tartan on the Scottish Lion Web site and placed an order. When it came in however, it was not the kilted skirt that I had ordered but a straight skirt. She likes the straight skirt, but felt that the opportunities to wear it, such as at Highland Games, would be limited as it is more restrive in movement.
So I contacted Scottish Lion and in a couple of days received a reply that acknowledged the mistake and if I would send it back, they would reorder the kilted skirt. That was a nice reply and what you would expect from a reputable kilt supplier (I believe the kilt was made in Scotland but Scottish Lion is the middleman)
This would have meant that the straight skirt would probably have gone on a hanger and maybe have sold but perhaps not, since it was made to the size we ordered. It is a well made skirt, fully lined.
I wrote back saying that if they would consider a reasonable discount, we would take the straight skirt but still wanted the kilted skirt. Within an hour I received a reply with a very generous discount which I accepted.
So now my wife has a nice tartan straight skirt for dressy occasions and will soon have a kilted skirt for Highland Games, informal occasions, and maybe Burn's Supper nights. Yes it is the same tartan, but one she really likes.
I think she looks pretty good in it, even though she doesn't like to be photographed and rarely smiles in photos.
So thanks to Scottish Lion for good customer service and a fast response from Sue. I'll probably keep this company on my "order from" list. (As long as they come through with the Kilted skirt in reasonable time).
