My daughter has already said I shouldn't get any ideas about her pet rabbit.

Yes, but would be dangerous for sporran bearer, too!

I am so glad I'm not the only one. I saw a dead armadillo by the roadside this week, and my first thought was, "Hey, I should stop and pick that up and make a sporran out of it."
At least I wasn't looking at LIVE animals that way. You people are sick, sick, sick. And now I am probably going to be looking at live animals that way.

Great! after reading this thread, I keep thinking about all the stuffed animals in my daughters room and which would make the best looking sporran. Hmmm, she has a purple stuffed dog that might be really nice as a casual with an Isle of Skye.....

I passed on a nice red fox that was hit on my way to work yesterday and though the very same thing.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Remember Barney? Now that would make for an interesting full mask.

Well, I am currently working on my first homemade sporran, using part of a Nyala hide (an African Antelope). My Step-Dad shot it in Africa last year.
Fur needs to become sporran......

When I see a deer by the road (or anywhere else), my first thoughts are: steaks, chops, roasts, etc. THEN, sporran...!
