The only difference... 1 is a copyrighted tartan by MacColls and the other is a 'poor quality knock off'. Here's the notes from the STA:

When the files transferred over from the STA's database to the National Tartan Registry, the 'copyright' part wasn't 100% (or even 10%) correct. They're MANUALLy fixing it, but it could take time to verify all the copyrighted tartans. For instance, ALL of the tartans registered under USAKilts were not marked as Copyrighted (although that's been fixed and they are now).

This is another case of 'Isle of Skye' vs. 'Bright Skye'. The only difference is this one's been happening for years and no one (MacColls or Lochcarron) has put their foot down on it.
