This being the off topic area, not sure if this is appropriate to post or not, if not, please mods do your thing.
Just thought this is worth knowing and reflecting about, that's all.

Sad news, but a certain reality is often forgotten, especially by those who have never served: fighting men realize - and accept - that casualties are part of the ball game they've signed up for. They are magnificent in that they never feel sorry for themselves, God bless 'em!

Since 1739 The Black Watch have shed their blood all over the world, and continue to do so to this day. It is a shame that such fine young men should have their traditions taken from them and instead of being the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) they are now just the 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland.

My deepest prayers for the family of this Soldier returning on the low road to Scotland. I pray that his family will be rewarded in knowing that he served the Black Watch, Scotland, The United Kingdom, and the World with great honour.
May he be in Peace.

I met a few Red Hackles in Afghanistan - they are terrific soldiers. God bless them all.
