Polyviscose Sportkilts??
Did I miss something? Searched the old threads and can't find any post about this change.
Was just on the Sportkilt website and they're now advertising that their kilts are made from polyviscose.
Used to be their kilts were made with poly cotton - a much softer, more pajama-like fabric.
Anyone able to clue me in?
Thanks,
Ron

I bought an SK original during their sale a couple of weeks back. The material is the same weight as my old one but it does have a slightly different feel. Must be because it's PV. I can't imagine they would make false claims.
BTW, the tartan I bought is an "All Ireland." Love it! I'm wearing it as I type...

I bought one as a gift for a friend, just a few days ago. It sure looks and feels like PV.

Ron,
Remember... there are differnt 'grades' of PV and different sources (UK, Pakistan, China, Mexico, Canada, Etc). I'm not sure where they get their PV, but it doesn't look like the stock list from MM.

I purchased a Sport Kilt in October. It was advertised as PV at that time. As far as I can tell it is what it says it is. It is a good quality casual kilt, and I am happy with it. I bought another for one of our grandsons. It's great.
What I will say is that it is not the same grade material as my USAK casual from Rocky. The Teflon, anti-pill treatment of the MM tartan fabric that Rocky uses is superior IMO.

I noticed the change on the SK Web site around November 2007 & mentioned it here. Formerly it said poly-blend, and it changed to polyester viscose.
I've bought one SK since. The fabric is nice, comparable to a 2007 vintage one. I suspect their fabric sources may change from time to time, as some from the same time period have a more "cotton-like" feel.
