    Sorry I've been gone lately

    Hi All;

    Sorry I've been gone a lot lately. Between searching for a job (still doing that), dealing with the emotional fallout from being denied that position just because I am handicapped, and trying to earn money free-lancing, I've been super busy.

    And I've managed to add yet another problem to my list. My doctor is now trying to figure out how and why I appear to be developing arthritis in my hands at my relatively early age (only middle aged). Considering that my two skill sets are computers and stained glass, extreme pain in my fingers and hands is not a very good thing.

    welcome back

    i suffer from pains in my hands similar to what you mentioned i guess when your using your hands alot it comes with the territory, Ive been using heavy machinery from about 10 years old some time when i would do the wrought iron glass work and pottery my hands would ache something awful i guess you've gotta make the best of a bad situation these days
    sometimes i wonder if i have white-knuckle syndrome.

    any luck contacting your stained glass suppliers about that UK solder iron (the one i contacted you about on ebay a few weeks back ) no rush if you haven't as it would be late July before i would be able to purchase it anyways

    On a much smaller scale I had the same pain. I got a healing stone from
    Ancienne Alliance, and within two weeks my hand pain went away completely. Give him a shout and get one. You won't regret it.

    Have you had your thyroid function checked recently?

    Before I was diagnosed and treated my hands and feet were a problem, and stress always made it worse.

    Don't waste your time and energy on 'might have beens' - concentrate on the freelance work, in hard times firms want to be able to find someone to do specific projects much more than when things are middling to good - and they are far more likely to go back to someone who shows that they can deliver what they want when they want it or faster, plus pass on recommendations as they are more likely to boast about finding a good freelancer with a view to keeping them in business, than about someone working in house who might get poached from them
