Unfortunately, I have way more experience with this than I would like to as my husband's parents died within a week of each other. If you would like me to e-mail you some pictures of the program, I can.
We had a picture of the deceased on the front with the words "In Loving Memory of (full name)". Inside was a list of the pall bearers and honourary pall bearers followed by the itinerary (prayer, life sketch, songs, ect. and who was doing what) On the back of my mother-in-law's we had a nice poem. On the back of father-in-law's we had a watermark of an elk (he loved elk hunting). Under those we had an appreciation from the family (The McMurdo family would like to express thanks for your support at the passing of...)
I hope that helps you a little. My condolences to you and yours. It's never easy planning these things...by the way, our local funeral home had templates of programs to use and we were able to customize it with different fonts, words, paper, and so on.
