Any other recommendations?
Actually, Maclean of Duart is woven by everyone in a variety of shades. Are you looking for some unique variation?

I know, it's an Ellis Island spelling, but my dad traced the line to the Duart Macleans. I have Maclean of Duart's Modern tartan in an 8 yard glory, but now I'd just like to buy some fabric that matches the colors, but not necessarily in the heavy wool. It's just for banners and such.
My kilt was made by Hector Russell of Glasgow, and he doesn't sell that tartan for less the 92 dollars a yard. That's a lot for a banner. Also, if we have a tent at the next Games, I'd want to have a few swatches of Duart's other tartans for display, but it's looking costly. Just wondered if there were some other resources I didn't know about.
I really appreciate everyone's help. This site is the best. My wife hopes it'll wean my off my sports addiction!

Sounds like you are not looking for a kiltmaker necessarily, just a source for fabric.
We carry tartan cloth from Lochcarron, House of Edgar, Strathmore, and D. C. Dalgleish mills in Scotland. I'm willing to bet your kilt was likely made from cloth from one of these mills.
We have available weights of wool ranging from 8 or 9 oz spring weight all the way up to 18 oz regimental weight. For the purposes you are talking about (making banners, etc), 10 oz would work out just fine. I'd start by looking at Lochcarron's Reiver range, which we sell for $60/yd. It comes 59" wide, so a single yard will suffice for a good sized banner.
