Does the fact that I have new found interests make me that much of a different person than she married?

Ah, I think she is probably just givin ya the biz! I think, I hope, cooler minds prevail the second time around. I was my ex's second and she chose wisely that time. I got a reprieve and get to choose wisely yet again, or mayhaps not at all!

This one sounds familiar, TOO.
Still happy to be able to wear the kilt occasionally and pursue my heritage interests.

On a Dutch golf forum it was my own wife who challenged me to wear a kilt. It was more a joke, but she knew I loved kilts and she wasn't surprised when I ordered a kilt instantly.
I don't think she realised I started to wear kilts (more kilts followed pretty soon) quite often, but again...she wasn't amazed about it either.
When we attended an official dinner from her work...I didn't want to push buttons and suggested to wear a "normal" suit, but my wife urged me to wear a kilt ("When they don't like it...tough luck")
My mother loves it...I don't have to dare to show up wearing pants!
My inlaws probably think I'm just weird, but they accept it. At first they were really uncomfortable with it I think, but positive comments from others made them feel less uneasy about it.
I'm not full time kilted and I still choose to wear pants when I think a kilt might make feel others uncomfortable.

Again, works for me!! Fortunately for my husband, though no one in my family has worn a kilt in more than 200 years, I have always been of the mind that a man in a kilt is very manly and very sexy. I now prefer him to wear a kilt than anything else! It's all about perspective. I don't always recommend this route, but if any of the ladies in your lives don't like your kilts, try buying one or more of those trashy Historical novels from Wal-Mart - the ones with the guy in the kilt on front - and see if they approve of that guy wearing a kilt!!!

I'm currently going through a divorce myself and I tried to get him to wear a kilt. He would not have anything to do with it. So, I'd like to join this club when it gets started. Currently accepting applications for #2 ;)

That would be my attitude as well. In a society where women seem to think that the and men should be equals, it seems insane that there are women who would actually disallow their husbands to right to dress themselves. (Luckily, my wife finds kilted men to be more manly, given the fact that pants are unisex and kilts are almost exlusively masculine. She actually will not go out in public with me unless me I'm dressed "like a man." Lucky me!! )

Hi Dixie,
Sorry to hear you are going through that mess. We make light of it here but it is horrible to go through. Even if you want out, there is still regret, recrimination, all that crap. I had two small children, well 8 and 10, who are the centre of my world, That made it really hard. Now they seem to be off in an orbit all their own!
I have relatives up near you, well, Prince Edward Island. I'll have to see if you are around when next I do up.
Good luck and hang in there, it sucks but it does get better.

Yes, best of luck in your divorce Dixie. They can be ugly and emotionally draining----find a couple good friends to lean on through the tough parts. And remember you have friends here who can help too.
