I'm sorry, but the idea of self-combusting kilts just kills me. I have tears running down my face and my stomach hurts from laughing.

Anyway, rinse the salt out of your kilts with cool water and they'll be fine. Anything exposed to salt sea air or sea water will fall apart in time. So don't use your kilts for sails. 'Nuff said.
