    Kegerator?

I am considering building a kegerator from an old fridge and was wondering if anyone here has built one before or at least has one?

Looking for any tips or tricks and recommendations.

I have one that I built it is pretty easy to do. Most of the build depends on the type of fridge you have and what you are trying to make the final product look like.

Is it a full sized fridge or a dorm sized fridge?

I was originally going to use an old upright freezer with a new thermostat but it seems to be having issues. The plan now is to find a full size or Apartment sized fridge for the conversion. The plan is to have something capable of holding at least a 1/4 keg or (2) 5-gallon kegs depending on the situations. I am currently watching Craigslist for a fridge and keeping an eye on the Volunteers of America store up the road as well.

That is simple, just get a conversion kit (http://www.northernbrewer.com/brewin...onversion.html) or find the parts on ebay. Then drill right through the door or the side of the fridge. Since all the refrigerant lines are in the back there are no worries.

    now, THAT'S funny!

I'm not very Green, but some of those old refrigerators use a ton of electricity. I use to have one in the basement for beer and ice cream and I read online that the model I had added almost $30 a month to my electricity bill. For that, I can buy fresh ice cream and run to the off-sale more frequently.

    Enjoy your ale!

This wouldn't happen to be inspired by a recent King of the Hill episode, would it?

The Kegerator's I've seen have the spout out the side rather than the door. That way you don't have to worry about the hoses getting tangled or stretched.
