Yeah, I went back today and got the remainder of the bolt of Cunningham. I took a look at the Stewart Black but then tried in vain to look up a tartan finder on my iPhone to compare it to. They had combined the English Accent and Brushed Plaids together onto on rack, where they were previously on separate racks Saturday, so people must be buying them.

The product that looks like Black Stewart is actually missing the blue and green stripes. The Cunningham appears to be dead on. Didn't see the Black Watch in our local store. Surprised there was no Royal Stewart available.

Use the extra to make a pleated skirt for your significant other. Same pattern and technique as the X-kilt just set the apron to open the other way.

Oh well!

Hopefully the fabric you bought will come in a bit heavier... I just didn't feel comfortable wearing such a light kilt for my first one...

Did you notice that the Stewert Black had a some metallic thread in it???
If you see abbreviations, initials or acronyms you do not know the Xmarks FAQ section on abbreviations may help.

I went to JoAnn's and bought up the Cunningham material. They said they could order more. The red isn't as bright as the pictures here but bright enough.

I work at the Jo-Ann's in Fairborn, Ohio so I get to oggle the tartan fabrics alot. I would agree though that the fabrics themselves are not good for a decent kilt but are perfect for a casual or semi-trad kilt that you can wear day to day and out to not so fancy dinners.

I bought some of their Black Watch because my wife promised to make me a sporran with it. I'm going back tonight to see if there's any more "sporran-worthy" material I "must" have. I'll post pictures when it's done, but it might be a while. She's got several sewing projects ahead of it and her machine won't be back from repairs until next week.
