The Sudden Jones of an Alt-Kilt
5 weeks and 5 days ago (not that I'm counting) I ordered an Alt-Kilt punk kilt. The estimated time for delivery is four to six weeks. I have been relatively calm about it, no pains of longing etc. UNTIL three day ago. I am now checking the Alt-Kilt site several times a day to see if my order has gone from processing to shipped. To add to the frustration she has posted a couple of things on the Life Journal kilt group, and every time I see them, the Jones increases 10 fold. I'm sure the cure would be to order a Stillwater Kilt and have Jerry use his magic shipping powers so that I have a new kilt to satisfy me..... but that would be irresponsible with the finances (and I have more SWKs than any other brand in my closet, and I do like to spread my limited kilt funds among the many suppliers)
Oh, the Jones.... when shall you end?
I wonder if the mail has been delivered yet today... I think I'll go check now.
Cheers
Chris

I know that feeling!
My tank was a gift to me from my dying mother, she wanted me to have one nice kilt in my collection. So I was measured and the kilt was ordered ... and in the chaos of everything else that happened that season, it was pushed from my mind.
When the call from the shop came that my kilt was in .... wow. For health reasons I can't drive, so I had to wait forever (four days) for someone to be able to run me across the state to get it.
Four or five months worth of jonesing compressed down to four days.
I'm not OCD at all, am I?

At least you only had to wait four to five months! My husband's Matt Newsome was purchased in November 2008 and arrived end of July 2009!!! LOTS of jonesing - drove me crazy!! I will say, though, that gorgeous kilt was worth every second of the wait!!! "Anticipation is half the fun!"
Don't forget to post pictures when your new kilt arrives!!!!!

Wow, I've never looked into their kilts, and that punk kilt looks AMAZING... Totally something I'd wear if I had the cash. Don't worry, it'll all be worth the wait!!!

Thanks for all the encouragement. I will defiantly post pics. I'm really hoping it is here Monday or Tuesday, because Monday (the first day of the semester) I'll wear the tank, and look all formal and spiffy, but for Wednesday, I'd like to wear the punk kilt so I'm all gothy and exciting -- that way the students won't know what to expect from their (slightly odd) professor . (Tuesdays/Thursday/Fridays I teach scenic construction, so no kilt on those days )
Oh, the LJ group is: http://community.livejournal.com/men_in_kilts/
Its not real active, (1-4 posts a week) so its a nice smile, without it taking up all my time.
Cheers

Ah.. must not have made that post past-tense enough. The kilt arrived a few years ago and I think all of my pictures posted here have been in it.
