    DIY Rabbit Fur Sporran

A woman I work with is hand sewing a Rabbit Fur sporran for her soon-to-be son-in-law for his pending wedding to her daughter. She asked to borrow my sporran to get an idea of how the stitching should look, the problem with that is that my sporran is the $15 basic sporran that SWK offers. What I'm looking for, for her, is a tutorial or manual for DIY for sewing a Rabbit Fur sporran.

    Anybody got anything like that?

I don't know if it helps but my "fancier" sporran is simply an SWK basic leather that I faced with rabbit fur.

As for a full rabbit fur sporran, I can't say I've seen anything quite like that. Wouldn't be surprised if someone else with more knowledge chimes in with info on it though.

I was thinking of doing something like this with the rabbit fur I found at Hobby Lobby... I was thinking about sewing a liner to the leather side of the hide to help hold the skin together and support the sporran itself because the skin didn't look like it would hold much weight. I am thinking about just making it like I would a leather sporran, just with a couple of alterations to the catch in the front and the loops in the back.

    GD,

Your friend could say herself a lot of effort by just buying one of those inexpensive SWK sporrans and adding a fur face to. Now I'm not saying I did the best job on this type of project, but here is how I modified my son's inexpensive sporran to being a fancier fur sporran

If I ever have to do this sort of thing again I know I can do a much better job. Still it might give her an idea.

    Cheers
