A Quest for comfortable shoes!

I have several pairs of the brown shoes almost exactly like the ones that you have illustrated above,made by Hoggs. I am wearing a pair now, as I type. The only problem with "commando" soles is that if you have been walking in a spot of mud and then forget,as I do often, to take them off at the door, it looks as though a tractor has gone across the carpet!

I suspect that Hoggs will be a tad more reasonably priced too. I can quite understand the Army chap not returning to pick them up. £200 for a pair of shoes (even if they were a bit less then) is an awful lot, in my humble opinion.

Mind you, it hadn't occured to me, but perhaps he even paid a deposit?!
