Here is another voice for the 16 oz Wool. The reason we call it a TANK here on the forum is that a traditional 16 oz wool kilt will take a beating and come back for more. My old TANK has seen Highland Games, including a few tossed cabers, run the kilted mile many times, heavily swished about at Albannach concerts and beaten up in the mosh pit at Dropkick Murphys concerts. When the day is done, it gets hung up and the pleats pulled straight, by morning it is ready for another day of abuse. That TANK is now on its sixth generation, as I have expanded beyond the straps, and my nephew is giving it a beating in New York City. I have a new TANK by way of Rocky that will be initiated at the New Hampshire Highland Games next month. May the beatings begin...
