Ohio Renaissance Festival

The whole experience has been a bit of a downer for me. When my wife and I first started going 9 years ago it was fantastic fun. Now they've done away with so much because of people complaining that it wasn't "family welcoming" that it seems to be little more than a mall for people with costume fetishes. We still go because we love the atmosphere and special events like the games but all in all it is not what it used to be.

Christoph? Cristof? (spelling?) was wonderful.

Years back the staff paid him well (over $100) to insult Marrium Cheatum after hours. Was the only time I heard him lay into a 30 minute session and one he had time to plan for ...

LOL oh its a shame you wasnt around our end of fair then.... LOL I have made Christophe ALOT of money over the years.... and as he said on one of his albums...... "Ahhh Michael, For those of you that dont know I have an entire wing of my house dedicated to Michael...." My friends and co-workers allways though it would be nice to pay Christophe GOOD money(alot of his material was written for me....) not to mention the time we paid him 500+ to hit a good friend of ours names Tiny..... he brought the Minstrals with him for that one... AND a chair.....

I Have been WORKING the fair for 15 years now.... and yes I agree with everything thats said about its just not like it was in the old days..... I used to LOVE doing parade and finding the biggest meanest looking guy in the crowd grabbing his GF/WIFE/Whatever and kidnapping her for the remainder of the parade..... Or having the group of people that was to cool to Smile and Wave and stopping and harassing them until the entire rest of the procession has either passed or they give in and join in with the smile and waving..... (come on you paid good money to be there you should atleast have fun)

thats just a small thing compared to the many changes

Ahh Christophe, The Wise Guys, the Wenches, the ORIGINAL Pirate troop(god I really miss them) The Old queen we had(she STARTED in the original pirate group LOL) ..... not to mention the TON of real crafters that either fair has ran off or have died over the years I miss all the time....

really in the old days of fair we used to LOVE creating that environment that most of the patrons miss now.... but because of Krogers(big sponser) and of the owner himself(ahh we all just LOVE peter

) We are not allowed to do those things anymore

As an aside I have been painting my shop and its all nice and fresh looking now

Located back side of fair not far down from the pirates shop and crystal finery for those thats showing up and need to be reminded to stop by and say hi so I can meet some of the fine people here at Xmarks!!!!!

Hooray for Clan Claus. I just found out that the mill where I was getting my kilt is shutting down, so I gotta come up with a new outfit. I haven't met any of you in person so I hope to recognise you.

I'm thinking of wearing a dandelion somehow.

Santa Wally and I will be wearing the Clan Claus Tartan. So just look for two old guys with white hair and beards in the same tartan a long with our Mrs, Claus's. We are looking forward to meeting you all.
