Any of those sounds great to us, what time should we meet up?

Of course you should take a kilt to Toronto. I went there last summer and wore kilts every day. I saw quite a few other kilties out and about, probably about as many as I would have seen in Edinburgh and the kilts drew little or no attention. The only time I was asked to pose for a photo was when I was with McMurdo at Casa Loma and we met a family from New York.

I just found out what my work schedule is that week - I can make the 12th, or the 11th, but the 10th is out.

Another update on my schedule----turns out that on wednesday 9/9 I will NOT be attending the dinner the meeting folks are putting on, so now the availability for me and mine for a kilt night includes Wednesday 9/9, in addition to Thursday 9/10 and Saturday 9/12. I will let the locals fight over the site of venue.
My Tewksbury Maple Leaf tank is still "in the shop for waranty repairs" but may be back in time for the trip. If not I may have to sub in my IoS or Ancient Douglas instead. NO biggie.

OK so I won't wear my Maple Leaf or Isle of Skye, got it. Do we want to make it Saturday the 12th as Gary will also be able to make it?

Sounds like Saturday night is the best night for most of the SOKS group who might attend so lets plan on that. Robert (Canuck) let me know that he has to head back home on a train Thursday evening so I will leave the offer open to him to meet with my wife, son, and myself individually that evening for dinner if he would like---we do owe him for a previous and as yet un-repaid favor.
Don;t sweat trying to match or not match my attire, as I will be making that decision late in the packing process most likely. Still waiting on the Maple Leaf and hoping it will find its way home in time, as that would be most appropriate.
I will leave time and choice of venue up to the locals for Saturday night and trust your judgement----all I ask is that it include dinner and drinks and fine companionship, and have no doubts it will live up to those expectations.
Thanks again in advance for your hospitality.

I've just been informed that the Saturday may not be good for us, so I'd like to keep with the Thursday unless anyone has any other day that would be better.

Robert (Canuck) and I had planned to meet at the Chelsea hotel lobby at 6 pm Thursday (he has to catch a train at 10 something that night) before heading out---should not be a problem finding the only other kiltie in the lobby at that hour. IF the rest of the SOKS rabble wants to meet there too at that time it would be grand. Otherwise Glen and Robert, get together and choose a place and post it , so any latecomers can know where to catch up to us that evening.
My wife Caroll, my kilted boy Carter, and myself are at your mercy for the evening. We will try to not embarrass the locals by getting drunk and dancing on the tables (especially Carter, although the boy can dance), although from what I hear about Grant that actually might be considered expected and normal behavior. (Note to self: don't forget to pack the rubber chicken---want to look like a local, not a tourist, if at all possible)
Thanks again in advance for the hospitality.
