Day 10 – Travels Along Loch Awe; Kilchurn Castle

The opposite view looking northward up Loch Awe.

While we were in the castle, this little fellow came into the world.

On next stop would be on the other side of the loch at one of the most intriguing churches, I’ve ever visited.

I gather that that's the train to/from Oban in the distance, between Lochawe and Dalmally?

Yes, you are correct. It was part of the earlier Callendar and Oban Railway. I actually took the photo to capture the train. It runs right next to our next stop St. Conan's Kirk. The railway opened this area in 1870s which brought Walter Campbell to the area who built the church.
