    Thank you for all that information, it is very interesting. In the past I have spent many gruelling ,but happy, days stalking deer on the hills of Glen Moriston and they really are tough going! My wife is a MacDonell and knows the local history far, far better than I do----obviously! It is strange that I had never heard of these people----until now. Still, never to old to learn.

    I personally have only been aware of them for about 3 or 4 months now.

    It's funny, everyone talks about Flora MacDonald because of the romantic mistique of the situation, but they fail to mention a whole other bunch of interesting stories like the 7 men of Glenmoriston. It also sheds some light on to how devoted some of the Jacobite Highlanders still were to Charlie.
