This reads like an excellent weekend, though I can't understand why a Highland Games would have no caber tossing, that's always the highlight.
Looking forward to viewing your pics.

Yes she's in all five, I just mentioned MJB as she has the lead in that. I think it's her 7th season there.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. I too can't stand wearing my kilt in any hint of heat. I've not worn it since our xmarks get-together at Dumfries in January. Just realised how long ago, shame on me. I intend having it on in October when I go North for 5 days.

I visited Scotland's smallest distillery some time ago and have tried Edradour several times, excellent
In Pitlochry last weekend I bought a bottle of deluxe Islay mist whisky on the recommendation of the owner (Robertson of Pitlochry) who I have been told was Keeper of the Quaich some years ago. He is a very nice persona and so informative about scotch whisky.
This deluxe whisky is very similar to Laphroig malt and I had a couple of drams of it the other night with my brother, great stuff.

Glad someone agrees with me that the kilt is a very warm garment in hot weather. The problem in Scotland perhaps is that mostly anyone who wears a kilt is generally wearing a traditional one, its just not on to have all these contempory and differently designed kilts in Scotland. Perhaps this is a pity because some of the pictures of these kilts that have appeared on the forum are quite smart. I would probably wear them but not in Scotland, I have never worn my leather kilt outside at any event, only inside doors but I did wear it outside while in the USA.

Pitlochry was one of the places my wife and I went while we were on our honeymoon. We had a great time there. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. We got married in April of 92 and the weather we had while we were there was beautiful. I had lived and traveled a lot within the UK and I told her that while we are over there the weather may be a bit chilly, rainy, and a bit drab. However, the whole time we were there the weather was great. We have been back several times since and we are going to take our two boys over there next year. One of those places will be Pitlochry.

I noticed you get used to warm weather. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. Certainly there are places further south, but I went to a family cabin in upstate New York in June. I couldn't believe I was up there in a sweatshirt most evenings. I would have been in t shirts when I was younger.
