Oddly enough, I am having two kilts cut! But the second is for my father and I'd like us to wear the "same" kilt...

For those who asked here is the pic of pleating to the red stripe. I don't like it as much, but since I had the pic, I can satisfy your curiosity. I think it makes the back too red with a mostly green front.



The other issue is because of the large sett is I am a little concerned about how many pleats I'll get. My kiltmakers math is that to the sett pleating will yield 21 pleats. But she can squeeze some more if she pleats some to half sett's. If she pleats to the yellow stripe it will yield 23 pleats. I know we are debating TWO whole pleats here, but I wonder if I should be trying to squeeze all I can. I have a Stillwater 8 yard wool, not quite apples to apples I know, but I counted 28 or 29 pleats. I imagine I am focusing on the wrong details, I really just need to decide which pleating I like and let her do what she does best... right??
