Frank
Been very busy of late and first time on here in a while. Being born in New Scotland (Nova Scotia) I feel I am a Scot entitled to wear the Nova Scotia tartan, I also served 22 years in the RCAF who also has a well known tartan. Last but not least my Grandfather was a Weir who also has a tartan. Am I right in the fact that I could wear all three of these kilts? (not at the same time of course)

you can wear what you desire... what limits your selection, is your personal preferences.. we have traditional members who only wear their paternal tartan, while others have an excess of 50+. Its your preference on how you approach this issue.

Don't forget that the RCAF tartan has a Nova Scotia connection:
The idea for an RCAF tartan began at a "Robbie Burns Night" mess dinner at No. 9 Service Flying Training School when Group Captain E.G. Fullerton, a Nova Scotia of Scottish ancestry, decided to form a pipe band dressed in Scottish tartan based on Air Force colours. He sketched a design in red and blue pencil, and Loomcrofters of Gagetown, N.B. made a sample, adding a white line in the design.

Being the husband of a Melanc(s)on from Louisiana, whose ancestors came from Grand Pre during Le Grand Derangement, I am quite fond of the NS tartan.

Todd
