Thanks. I thought about it, but its hard to plan things with the whole family along.
We now reach the final stop on this little pictorial tour.
Black Rock City (BRC)

BRC is the temporary fourth largest city in Nevada, that blooms in the desert once a year and then disappears like Brigadoon. It is the home of the Burning Man festival, which can be rather hard to describe.

Attending Burning Man has been on my list of things I wanted to do for many years, but the idea of camping in an extreme environment where the only thing your admission ticket provides is the porta-potties and the only thing for sale is coffee and ice, had been off putting, to say the least. It was actually a conversation with Steven (aka Krash) and Jennivieve Villegas of UK that actually got me off my *** and I was fortunate to find a great group of experienced “burners” who were looking for some additional campmates.
Enough talk, more Monkey! Costumes are part of participating, and the nights were aglow. Now you see the kilt wearing monkey.

Now you don’t.
(Much thanks to WalkerK for his help soldering the EL Wire for my light up fez.)
Kilts in general, and UKs in particular remain very popular in BRC. Of the five men in my camp, three had UKs. (I also wore my SWK and another kilt)

One sees many things at BRC that you don’t see every day. Just a few examples: A steam powered Victorian house.

A “Raygun Gothic” rocket ship

And lots of art amongst the dust storms
