Spats pattern
DIYers, here's a pattern for making your own spats. I think that most of the rabble considers spats too military, too formal--at least the crisp, white ones--but I wonder how tartan spats would look.

You could always cut the sole out of a pair of tartan socks, if you were hell-bent on looking silly!
Tartan spats??? Why???????????????

I've used that pattern, it's not bad, and a good height for wear with the kilt.

Thanks to you, Foosinho, and to the pattern maker for sharing this pattern. Has anyone tried this in leather? Cordially, Nehmah

Hi Nehmah,
As far as I know, spats were usually made of canvas.

Acutally took the pattern from:
http://www.thankyoufornotbeingperky....pats010608.pdf
And measured them out to fit me. After a couple of paper revisions, I got the GF to sew me a modified pair for a wedding that I was ushering, and she was the MOH for. Decided that I wanted a flat top (no rear peak like the generic ones) and a square toe (since I only wear polished cap toe dress shoes, and not ghillies).
