    Sawney Bean was a Scottish cannibal and it is believed that he and his family murdered and ate over 1,000 people. This was the TRUE story that I am lead to believe was the inspiration for the storyline of the film Deliverance.

    Aye. Has a kilted history too, the Jacobite Army passed through the town on their way to Derby during the '45. Apparently a town pub is haunted by a Highland soldier (where else eh?).
