    The funny thing is that this is the only place I have ever heard the 'lawn chair' effect discussed. It is almost as if nobody else in the kilt wearing world cares.

    If you're looking the kilt as such, then there is noting wrong with lawn chair effect. But as I said previously it can make you "fat" looking, due to prevailing horizontal lines.
