    I have seen red-wing blackbirds do the same thing. Any bird that is territorial will go after the predator birds. I once saw a humming bird take out an eastern mocking bird with a dive bomb. You just never know.

    Dive-bombing happens all the time -- blackbirds on crows, crows on seagulls, sparrows on hawks, mockingbirds on anything. It's the "ride 'em cowboy!" aspect to this photo that I love!
