I remember watching this live in 1997...thought you all might to watch the Farewell Ceremony of the Handover. The Black Watch RHR was the grrison regiment at the time. Quite stirring.

was lucky enough to be attached to the Watch during this period, amazing time and was proud to be a part of history

A member of my community happened to be in China at the time and brought back a tape of the ceremony. Hearing Auld Lang Synge being piped as they marched to the ship was a very moving experience. Especially as nobody knew what Hong Kong's fate would at that time.
