Yes I think I need to thank Alan as well thats a hell of a write up!!! and everyone else that contributed to it as well!!! I think in order of my next kilts will be... Green X-kilt Black with green under pleat X-kilt then maybe try to get some tarten and do a rev K like in the x-kilt manual... Would like to find a suppliment for a double box pleat... seen a picture of one and those look SWEET methinks a double boxpleated x-kilt would be pretty nice Anyways thanks Alan only problems I had is I think there needs to be a few pictures about how to set the big under pleat I know it confused me and I ended up doing it alittle different and there seems to be alot of peope asking the same questions about it.. AND maybe adding a pleat to each end (full pleat on the underapron side and atleast a half box on the over apron side) it REALLY makes the kilt look fuller and hang better IMHO AND gives alittle room to grow lol...
new URL for the Manual, since bunchdescendent had to deal with some bandwidth hogging.... See his earlier post...two posts back...for the new URL.

Wow....BIG THANKS to Alan H for the X-Kilt write up. My wife and I just finished my first kilt and used the X-Kilt Manual to do it. Despite a few minor issues, it turned out great. One little note though... For us fella's that are bigger around our middle than our Tush.. Use the bigger number to figure out the number of pleats. We used the Tush/rump number and realized there were not enough pleats for the size of the Apron. Figured the mesurement out using the Middle number(thicker fello here) and pleats added up perfectly. Thanks Again! Buggy(Joe)
Just got done looking over the manual and now waiting for a my new (used - but new to me) sewing machine to arrive in the mail. Farbric store here I come. (I didn't think that I would say that a few months ago) Thanks again for all the time that was put into the X-kilt manual.
I just finished a Rev-K kilt. There is a little more work to be done but nothing major. I love the way it looks and feels. I made this for my sister's wedding reception later this month. I'll be in a tux for the wedding but she wanted me to wear a kilt for the reception. She saw it yesterday and gave it the thumbs up. The picture is just a rough idea of how it would look. I was miserable taking this. 90+ degrees, sick with a sinus infection, and an 8 year old working the camera. Maybe some more pics later. Thanks Alan and sydnie7.

Thanks Alan and sydnie7. Not to go too far off topic but where does one get a sporran chain like that? It's beautiful.

It is a chain mail pattern called Captive Inverted Round. It is thick and very heavy. As a result I only wear it for special occasions. I had a post about it here: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/n...x.html?t=48259
I can't get the link to the instructions to work. Is there a new link? Or if someone could email it to me that would work. Just pm me for the address
