I just noticed this thread and would like to provide an update as tartanswede has not been back on the site to let you know what has happened with this.
I have looked into the original order and yes – there was a delay to begin with as the tartan ordered was out of stock and had to be rewoven. Tartanswede was informed of this and told us to go ahead.
However this is not the main concern if the thread as I am aware. We have looked into this and the skirt was made up in the correct style (if you look closely at the website picture you can see that the buckle placement etc. is correct and the correct length is also stated).
The problem is that the kiltmaker (for reasons unknown) decided to position the fabric above the beginning of the wide waistband on the bias instead of straight as it should have been.
We have now spoken at length with tartanswede about this and he has been directed to our colleague who deals directly with the mills and kiltmakers/tailors. His skirt is (as far as we know) on its way back to us now and we will be refunding his return shipping costs, as well as sending out the corrected/replacement skirt urgently at no extra charge of course.
It has been an unfortunate experience on both sides and we will be revamping certain ladies products as they appear on our website to be clearer about the specifications of each garment, as well as speaking with our kiltmakers to ensure they are clear about how each garment needs to be made to fit with our website standards.
