    is Marmite like Vegemite
Oh no its not, Marmite is far better than Vegemite.

Never ever taste Marmite on it own! Spread thinly on toast with REAL butter is the way to go.
I don't use marg or butter (to lazy to get another container out) and have the MM nice and thick on my toast, puts hairs on everything for you, and gives you x ray vision...

A thin layer on a toasted cheese sandwich (before toasting)
Second that, was brought up on marmite and cheese sandwiches for snacks, but if you put the MM and cheese on toast, then grill it, its Owesome...

After spreading my toast with REAL butter, I simply show it the jar of Marmite, or possibly a picture of a jar of Marmite and that's just about the right amount!

Seriously a little goes a long way!

I used a similar approach with vermouth in my extra dry martinis back in my drinking days...

I was weaned on Marmite and still absolutely love it 74 years later! But what's all this about spreading it thinly? I have always lashed it on my toast as with a palette knife - not that I eat much toast thesedays (a teaspoon does just as well!).

A few months ago, I saw a few jars on the shelf of 'Marmite with Champagne' - a limited edition - so I grabbed one quickly. I have not yet tried it, but am waiting for a special occasion to 'crack' it!

Och, all this talk of Marmite has set my juices flowing - must go and have a spoonful or two.............

    Take care,
    Ham.

    I hate the stuff too!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Bite yer tongue! They are not! Marmite is horrible, horrible stuff. Vegemite, on the other hand, is a wonderful product that tastes great!

Vegemite all the way, baby! You won't see any of that nasty Marmite stuff in MY kitchen!

We bought some Marmite -- and Twiglets... thanks for mentioning it, Arlen -- and hubby and I really liked them. We stopped by my mother-in-law's place so she could try them and she liked them both as well.
