What type of basket hilt do you have? I'm trying to narrow down my options, rooting around at the Sword Buyers' Guide forums going over the merits of Hanweis, Windlasses, Cold Steel (as an outside choice) or going with a custom made basket to put on my Valiant Armoury ATrim designed arming sword.

    Sigh. Choices!

I practice Wing Chun kung fu and that's part of why I had my eyes fixed: to be able to see my opponents better!

Congratulations on the good recovery. Do you think you could get your doctor's endorsement? Maybe a prescription for a kilt?
That would be brilliant if I could get a prescription for a kilt based on this experience... and even better if my benefits would pay for it! I'm saving my pennies for a 4 yard box pleat from Keltoi but it's taking far too long on a student budget

Did not weat my kilt last winter after hernia surgery. The kilt would have been right across my incision. But hope the recovery continues well.

I have a Hanwei. I do like it.

Nice! I don't know much about the kung fu styles aside from what my sensei has told me. He studied ( I think) tiger style is what he said. So- how are the eyes doing?

No problem. I'm not sure of the temper of the blade, though- weather it's right for blade on blade contact. I haven't tried that. I just use it more for the weight, to build the strength in my arm. And it's worked like a charm!

My eyes are doing much better, thanks. I'm still having trouble doing things like reading though, and so my computer is zoomed in to make the letters really big. This week was the fall midterm break from classes and I'm hoping to be back in form by Monday...
