Sporran Update
Good day rabble,
Thought I would share this little project with you. I purchased a sporran from ebay that I really liked...
The only problem with this sporran was that the pin and chain was silver. And, unfortunately, all of my brown gear has brass or bronze accents. So, what to do???
Well, I contacted my father who has a small lathe. He took a piece of mahogany and turned the new tapered pin for me. Now all I had to do is find a brass chain and wire to put it onto the sporran. And voila!

So what does the rabble think?
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I have the same sporran as that(without modification). I think it's probably my favorite. I have the silver / brass dilemma too but so far I'm just living with it. Nice job on yours though.

That's a gorgeous sporran and all the better for your modification. Do you have any info about where you found it on ebay?

Cheers, lads. Though I suppose I should wait until I get my kilt from Rocky and my first sporran before I start ordering other ones.

Great modification! You made a nice-looking sporran look even better. I agree that brown leather looks better with brass and/or bronze accents.

Looks great Mike (though replacing the chain will make it even better)
Cheers
