I thought this thread was to be strictly "photos only" not lengthy discussions on some other subject?

Quite right Phil, it was meant to be mostly photos, though it seems people would rather discuss black shoes and brown sporrans, or feathers or lack thereof. Nevertheless for my part I will continue to try to steer this thread back to it's intended purpose.

This is a cracking thread. He is effortlessly stylish. Whether it's effortless because he has teams of valets or because he's just good at kilts, I don't know, but it's a joy to see either way.

I'm not sure if this picture from the 2009 Braemar Gathering has been posted already, but I'm putting it up for two reasons. One, because it's another instructive "Charlie Shows Us How To Wear The Kilt" photie, and two, because I happened to be passing through Braemar that afternoon on my way back from a couple of days in the Cairngorms.

Just as I got to the town, the police waved my car to a halt and told me I'd have to wait until the parade passed. I sat and watched the road on my right, from whence the massed pipe bands that I was expecting were bound to come. But it wasn't a pipe band. It was HRH's Daimler (or Bentley, or whatever he gets driven around in) which drew to a halt at the junction, waiting for the police to escort him onwards. So, I'm staring at him. And then he waves at me. So I waved back. And then I got distracted because I was listening to the Scotland V Macedonia football match on the radio, and Scott Brown scored.

Oops. It's supposed to be pictures only, isn't it.
