Hello and welcome from Houston, TX! I've been lucky to have spent 2 weeks (in aggregate) near Taynuilt and had great fun!

Good to hear you have enjoyed Taynuilt, many years ago I worked in the quarry at Bonawe, directly across the loch from Taynuilt.

Oh yes. The dugout is still visible, of course; and, the stone buildings are still there on the other side not far from the jetty. Taynuilt's still a nice little town and the Taynuilt Inn and the Brander Lodge pubs still have good selections.

Yes, the dugout isnt used anymore, it went out of use I think in the '60s, there is a new face a little to the East which produces high quality granite. We had a great laugh in the quarry and sometimes I think I ought to write a book about our escapades!!

Until then, you are welcome to tell your tales here, Jock719.
