    The gravest of human maladies

As I am currently "at leisure" I find myself more frequently suffering the gravest of human maladies. Acute boredom complicated by acute poverty! If I did not suffer from the one I could just throw money at the other until it disappered.

Boredom is only an option of the unimaginative; nothing that can not be fixed with a library card and enough shoe leather.

Ensign Mender, I happen to know you are sitting on a stash of cammo suitable for kiltling....I inherited a whole bag of tartans that could be put to use in a Joesph's Kilt (kilt of many colors) ! Get your Sewing kit out!ith:

My new business has short periods of time where I have no jobs booked. Not working means no money coming in.

If I get bored and the weather is too nasty to do anything outside, I curl up inside with a good book. Luckily, when I did a job earlier in the summer to remove a bunch of "junk", I hauled off two large boxes full of perfectly good novels. Most of them are crime type stories or horrors...just what I like to read! In essence, I got paid to take away over 100 books! Gotta love a good day like that, and I won't be able to complain of boredom for a long time!

Exactly. For me it's pretty much a non-concept...

For me it was physics. Though I'm sure I have a greater change of avoiding starvation in my new line of work rather than my old line (artistry).

I can't help but wonder what society Mr. Vaneigen is referring to. I know there are places where things are worse, but it sure isn't here in the U.S.

I have taken up calligtraphy (again) after several years away. It's very relaxng, satisfying, and impressive to folks who have never tried it. Being bored is not an option.
